Release: Obsidian Systems' Tezos Wallet and Baking Applications for the Ledger Nano S
Obsidian Systems is pleased to announce that our Tezos Wallet and Baking Applications for the Ledger Nano S are now available! Both can be downloaded here. Instructions for installation and use can be found here.
These applications are managed through the command line, but there are plans to support them with an interface in the near future. We'll be making additional announcements as more information becomes available.
Tezos Wallet Application
The Ledger Wallet Application can be used to:
- Create a Tezos wallet
- Read your account's balance
- Transferring tokens
- Delegation
Instructions can be found here. For more advanced use and further understanding, read the Tezos Documentation, especially the Command Line Interface.
Before transferring large amounts of tez, we recommend first transferring a small amount (ie. 1 tez) to confirm you've done so correctly.
Note: If you contributed to the Tezos fundraiser, you will not be able to import your contribution directly to the Ledger. You will need to import to an intermediary wallet, then transfer your tokens from there to an account you've made on the Ledger Nano S.
Tezos Baking Application
The Baking Application is tailored to support secure baking, enabling an account used by the baker to be stored on the Ledger Nano S.
The Baking App can sign the following:
- Blocks
- Endorsements
- Register as a delegate (baker)
Instructions can be found here. After installing the application and registering an account on the ledger as a delegate (baker), the ledger will display the authorized public key hash. Once authorized, the application should be left open, allowing the Ledger to passively sign blocks and endorsements as the baker is asked to sign. During operation, the display will show the highest level block the Ledger has signed.
We'd like to thank the Tezos Foundation for their support, and the community members of our Baker Chat who have helped us refine these applications. Your participation is essential to shaping the future of Tezos!
